6. Of these five sins, which quiz's response seemed most different from your real personality?

I sound so normal in this! Ha. I always think I'm so horrible. I'm probably lazier than that shows... I've spent the entire afternoon on the computer, avoiding cleaning. =) Love it.
And I have more envy than that, I'm sure. And lust. And pride. And wrath... just ask my kids! =)

Meme... I love that word.

Just taking a few minutes to do something pointless before I clean the kitchen. Yes, that's my exciting Sunday. Ran across this on Dan Renzi's blog and thought I'd do it. Because I can. =)

1. Flip to page 18, paragraph 4 - in the book closest to you right now, what does it say?
Hm. It's a MLA handbook. Paragraph 4 talks about "advanced searches" when you're conducting research. Oh, no... I have a paper due Tuesday! oops.
2. If you stretch out your left arm - as far as possible, what are you touching?
A picture that Erin painted for me of a "Queen Bee" and her hive, taped to the wall.
3. What's the last program you watched on tv?
Baseball? World Series game 5... Yay, Cardinals! If that doesn't count... I watched my Tivo of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. I love that show!
4. Without looking, guess what time it is.
Um, 3:20? (Actually, 3:30... close enough.)
5. Except the computer, what can you hear right now?
Playing old REM songs on Yahoo! music. Football from the living room, J's talking to his best friend on the phone. E and her friends playing on the porch.
6. When was the last time you were outside and what did you do?
Unloading the groceries at 2 ish. Oh, and lecturing poor D, about 10 minutes later.
7. What are you wearing?
Jeans, yellow sweater, 'bee happy' socks, clogs.
8. Did you dream last night? If you did, what about?
Something about Faith. Not sure what, but I woke up thinking about her.
9. When was the last time you laughed?
This morning, my husband made me laugh, being silly. I love that about him.
10. What's on the walls, in the room you're in right now?
Picture. Clock. Bulletin board, calendar. It's a kitchen.
11. Have you seen anything strange lately?
Ran across some pics from when Wink was a baby when I was cleaning my desk out this am. They seem strange now.
12. What do you think about this meme?
Why? Am I going to hurt it's feeling if I don't like it? Hate dumb questions.
13. What's the last film you saw?
At the theater? Couldn't even tell you. Narnia maybe? I watched "Friends with Money" the other night, the first half. Haven't finished it yet, but I'm having a hard time seeing Jen Aniston as a pothead.
14. If you became a multimillionaire, what would you do with the money?
Pay off bills, buy a bigger house. Give lots away. Lots. To people and organizations that need it, but have a hard time earning it. Buy some stuff for the marching band. =)
15. Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know.
I am, on occasion, gripped by painful shyness. Not often, but enough that it pisses me off.
16. If you could change ONE THING in this world, without regarding politics or bad guilt - what would it be?
I'd eliminate all drugs... poverty and violence would decrease from there, I'd hope. And I could stop worrying about my kids trying them.
17. Do you like dancing?
Sometimes. Usually involving alcohol. I'm not very good, though.
18. George Bush?
Ought to be tried for his crimes. The least of which is being a spoiled, selfish brat.
19. What do you want your children's names to be, girl/boy?
I've done this... I love my kids' names. But I regret not naming one of them Violet after my grandma. And if I'd have had a boy, he would have been William. I love "Will."
20. Would you ever consider living abroad?
Sure. It would be cool for a while. When I was younger, I always wanted to live in a cool part of London and dress in plaid and punk. he.
21. What do you want God to tell you, when you come to heaven?
"Oh, honey, you haven't been nearly so bad as to send you to hell."

Yay.

2nd paper's done. Took me forever. Didn't do anything fun with my kiddos on their day off school. Missed out on snuggling with my sweetie, but it's done. I might get the hang of this stuff in a few decades.

Drama and dillemias abound here. Wink's crushing on an older boy. Well, I guess crushing is the wrong word, it implies that he doesn't feel the same way. I'm guessing he does. As much as time as he spends at my house, it seems like he does. Honestly, I'm a little concerned about the age thing, but not hugely so. They're about 2.5 years apart. It could be worse. And he's nice. Kind to Eezers. That's a big one. Kind to Wink, that's bigger. Respectful, but not dorky to me. Knows I'm not kidding when I say I'll kill him if he touches my baby. I'm overly analyzing this, of course, because that's what I do. I don't want to screw up. It's important. I already made a big deal about not letting her go out with anyone who wasn't 1 yr up or 1 yr down, that I now get to eat my words. Fun. But I remember being in love with a senior when I was a freshman... and all my mom saying no did was make me want to be with him more- and shut her out. I hate to be told "i told you so" by stupid people. Bugs me. My kid inherited it. =)

Life is good for E, though. School is going well. Seems to be doing ok in the friend department. Got the shoe tying thing down. Papa John's for lunch tomorrow. Life is good. Poor baby's hating the marching band stuff, tho. Don't blame her, I'm getting sick of it, too. Almost over.

The rest of life is pretty ok. Got an A on my first major paper and test. Studying hard. Closing last week, no real work right now. It's all good. Why am I so frazzled?

Sleep. =)

I need to be writing my paper...

but instead, I'm messing around on the computer. Wasting time. I'm gonna do the Sat Six. Because I'm procrastinating. And I know it.

1. You move to a new city: what is the first thing you're most likely to check out in your immediate surroundings: restaurants, grocery stores, shopping malls, movie theaters or historic sites?
Groceries. Then resteraunts. Girl's gotta eat.
2. Consider the local television stations in your area: do you generally stay more with one station for entertainment and local news, or do you tend to rely on one station for local news and others for entertainment?
I don't watch the news on tv... I read it online. And I don't have enough time to watch it for entertainment anymore. I do watch Grey's Anatomy, but that's it. I miss tv.
3. Is there a set time of day or night that you blog, or do you just post whenever the spirit moves you?
Whenever I can make the time. Usually, late at night or first thing in the am.
4. How often do you write a blog entry, then save it as a "draft" rather than publishing it immediately to think it over before actually posting it?
Hardly ever. It's a stream of consciousness thing. And it's not like anyone but me reads it anyway.
5. Which makes a better dessert after a good meal: ice cream, pie, or cake?
I like them all. If I have to pick- I guess cake.
6. What is your favorite flavor of the item you selected in question #5?
Vanilla with vanilla icing. Yum.

Will I get the paper done on time??? Stay tuned.

It's fall blah time...

I hate this time of year. Not the real fall in a couple of weeks, but this quasi-not -quite-fall where it's 90 one day and 50 the next. I'm sick, I'm tired- I'm sick of being tired and tired of being sick. =)
Ok, I enjoyed that.
I'm really kind of frazzled and overly emotional. I'm taking dumb stuff too seriously and involving myself in stuff that normally I'd just blow off. Not fun. Too many moms over analyzing the kids and my kid and it's pissing me off. My kid, my decisions. If I make mistakes, well, then I"ll just have to live with it. Ahhhh. I don't want to write the story down because I'll get pissy again and I've decided I'm just going to let it go. =) See how that one works. I promised Wink today that I would stop talking to other parents about her. And I have to realize that some other parents don't love my kid the way I love theirs. That's gonna be a tough one. (I offered the promise, she didn't ask for it.) I just don't want her to feel like she doesn't want to tell me stuff because I might tell the other parents. But sometimes it's nice to commisserate. I'll miss it. But like the DH says, the kids have it tough enough without the parents over analyzing every single word that comes out of their mouths. A wise man, he is. Yoda would be proud.

The world needs to stop spinning so fast for a few seconds, though... that would be nice. =)

Oh, I got an A on my first paper!!!! Yay! My first A in 17 years! The next one is due Tuesday... ugh.
